Biomedical Equipment Technician
Description:
- Positions available in Lincoln, NE and also Central Iowa
- Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on wide variety of medical equipment, as qualified.
- Performs repairs on medical equipment, as qualified.
- Submits and maintains equipment records / documentation, as required.
- Performs equipment management and technology assessment, as appropriate.
- Willing to work toward progression to next professional level through formal training, OJT and self-teaching.
- Works to maintain skills in specialty field technology advances and toward proficiency in other specialties.
- Hours: Field service Monday-Friday; local travel with few overnights involved. Occasional weekend on-call.
Qualifications:
- Degree in biomedical engineering technology, electronics or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of electrical circuitry and common electronic equipment
- 3+ year of BMET experience in hospital or clinical setting required
- Experience in diagnostic imaging and/or laboratory equipment a plus
- CBET certification also a plus
- Must have excellent customer service skills
- Must be self-disciplined, self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision and able to manage time efficiently
